
$1000 Scholarship Opportunity
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is an international collegiate sorority founded in 1922 on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. The Sigma Gamma Rho motto, Greater Service, Greater Progress, is a key force behind our service activities. One way the Lambda Theta Sigma chapter plans to serve this year is through scholarship.
We would like to provide a $1,000 scholarship to help cover the cost of college expenses for a minority female student with at least a 3.5 weighted grade point average who has a demonstrated financial need and resides within Pasco, Hernando, or Hillsborough county.
Requirements for eligibility are as follows:
- Applicant must be a minority female graduating with the Class of 2023 and has been accepted to a 4-year college or University.
- Applicant must have a weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
- Applicant must complete and submit the below applicant information with a headshot.
- Applicant must submit proof of Expected Family Contribution from the FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR).
- Applicant must submit a Permanent Record Summary or Transcript.
- Applicant must submit a 500-word essay on the following topic: How will you do your part in improving the plight of minorities in the United States and globally, especially on the African Continent?
