Merry Christmas from LTS!

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. This has been both an interesting and enlightening year as we continue to expand our footprint in the Pasco/Hernando counties.

We kept busy with our sisterhood gatherings, the youth symposium, operation big book bag, community service events, and offering scholarships, and look forward to what the new year will bring.

We have some great events planned in the new year before the end of our Sorority year in July 2023 and we look forward to inviting you and continuing to serve our community. As we look toward the future, we are excited to see what 2023 will bring and the new opportunities in front of us.

It’s an Extravaganza!

November 12, 2022, marked 100 years of sisterhood, scholarship, and service for our illustrious organization, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated! Founder’s day weekend this year was celebrated with good fun and laughter ALL weekend.

Our weekend began as our Sorors arrived at the Airbnb Friday evening after a hard day at work. Fiesta Friday consisted of a taco bar and games as we awaited the countdown until Founder’s Day. One of the favorite games of the night was the “Girls Night” card game that allowed us to get to know more about our sisters in a fun and silly way. As the night went on, we strolled into the wee hours of the night until the final 10 second countdown…10….9….8….7….6….5….4….3…2….1…Happy Centennial!!!!!!!

Afterward, we continued to catch up as (some) of us were on #teamnosleep while others decided to catch up on their beauty rest. Finally, the remainder of us called it a “night” and KO’d.

The next day was “Centennial Saturday” where we started the day with our favorite, BRUNCH. Sorors pitched in to create a decadent spread of fruit, pastries, breakfast meat, eggs, breakfast potatoes, and of course…mimosas.

After brunch and Netflix, we headed out to take chapter photos in our chapter centennial shirt and headed back in to relax until our Founder’s day dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Our weekend came to an end after enjoying dinner with one another for Founder’s Day and what a time we all had. Thank you to our hospitality committee for all their hard work in putting this weekend together.

Charter Day Excitement

On October 2nd, 2010, five amazing women chartered the “Lavish” Lambda Theta Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. We are so thankful for the hard work that each one of you put in to create our chapter that will and continues to service the Pasco/Hernando counties.

Each year, we celebrate with one another by having brunch at one of our local restaurants, talking about each other’s experiences becoming SIGMA women, and keeping one another up to date with what is happening in our lives; This year was no different. We celebrated at 717 South in Tampa, FL and as always enjoyed each other’s company.

Our Basileus, Soror Blount, ended our brunch with a speech about the road to get to where we are today and how proud she is in seeing how far our chapter has come throughout the years. As we continue to expand our chapter, we always keep in mind our slogan, “Greater Service, Greater Progress” and we will continue to make strides towards becoming a force in the Pasco/Hernando counties in providing assistance, resources, and community service.

Celebrating 40 years with Theta Upsilon

This weekend was filled with lots of laughs, hugs and loads of fun as some of our chapter members, who became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. through the Theta Upsilon chapter (University of South Florida), celebrated their 40th anniversary.

Sorors from each line that came through Theta Upsilon (TU) traveled from near and far to share memories and sisterhood with their line sisters and charter members. Today’s picnic started with a representative from each line stating why they were thankful for TU and sharing their love for one another and SIGMA. After each Soror shared, food was served and plenty of photos and conversations were exchanged throughout the remainder of the event. They ended the picnic with a few strolls (“That’s Right”, “STM”, “PYT” and more) and of course a group photo!

There was so much love and joy in the air and as always it was a pleasure to spend time with our SIGMA sisters. Congratulations on 40 years TU from your Sorors in Pasco/Hernando county, LTS.

Kicking off 100

Yesterday, we kicked off our 2022-2023 sorority year with our first event, Kicking Off 100! This was a social sisterhood event that we shared with Soror’s and guests. We had a great time getting to know new faces and catching up with our sisters. We even shared a moment with a newly reclaimed Soror!

We provided appetizers for everyone and shared a little bit about who we are, what we do, and why we joined our illustrious sorority. Every month we try to put on an event where we can fellowship and spend some sisterly time with one another and this was the perfect way to start off our year!

Sigma Gamma Rho is a national collegiate sorority incorporated in 1922. Over the years, Sigma Gamma Rho has served as a home for thousands of collegiate and professional women looking for a place to share inspiring life experiences, learn new things, conquer life challenges, thrive in society, and uplift the community through sisterhood, scholarship, and service. The dynamic women of Sigma Gamma Rho have built and sustained a well-known and highly respected reputation for leading positive change. We currently have more than 500 chapters in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Germany, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.

The Lambda Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was charted on October 2nd, 2010 to serve the Brooksville/Land O’ Lakes area. Five women, Masika Reed, Sherea Randolph, Cindy Blount, Angela Owens and Kesha McLeod chartered the “Lavish” Lambda Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. As Lambda Theta Sigma continues to expand, the 2022-2023 sorority year brings more opportunities to bring GREATER IMPACT to the Pasco/Hernando county areas through community service initiatives such as blankets for Project Cradle Care and our annual project Big Book Bag.
